1647 follows the Relationship-Building Home Visit Model developed by Parent Teacher Home Visits.  Home visiting provides an opportunity for teachers and families to connect and build a relationship around their shared goal of supporting a child’s school success.

In order for home visits to be most effective, they must be:

  • For relationship building only

  • Not conducted on school grounds

  • Voluntary for teachers and parents

  • For all students, not just struggling students

  • Scheduled in advance

  • Conducted in pairs

  • Compensated or incentivized for teachers
